There are several small towns along this historic road that are perfect for visitors to Harbor Country who are looking to get away from the city without traveling too far. Here, you’ll find several quaint shopping spots, rustic bed-and-breakfasts, grand hotels, historic inns, vacation cottages and the most picturesque Lake Michigan beaches. This famous road meanders into New Buffalo thru Union Pier and up into Sawyer all along the scenic coast of Lake Michigan. Keep an eye out for 'Red Arrow' signs for while traveling around Harbor Country... And don't forget your camera!

RED ARROW HIGHWAY

Named after a WWI army unit that included many local men, the scenic road passes through the center of our Harbor Country resort area.This historic highway is lined with fine art galleries, antique shops and unique eateries, such as the Harbert Swedish Bakery.

The quaint resort towns located along Lake Michigan include New Buffalo, Lakeside, Harbert and Sawyer. This area of Southwestern Michigan is also home to many state parks, beaches and outdoor recreation areas including Warren Dunes, Warren Woods, and Chickaming Nature Preserve. Cross country ski trails are available at all three locations.
